In asset management you can find asset view. Asset View is a combined view of function location and assets. it will give you the overall picture of install base at the factory side, at the customer. This is a combination assets are installed on a function location. before we can create an asset put it on your location, we need to setup the function location.
The functional Location is where assets are installed. You setup a default functional location then when you are building your assets structure. When you have built a structure, we cannot change it. but you can always extend it.
Once an asset have been installed on a function location you cannot delete the function location because you have a full history of what an asset have been installed on the functional location. you cannot delete the function location afterwards.
